US Snowboarding Team signing at Copper Mountain Saturday

The U.S. Snowboarding Team will take a break from its training at Copper Mountain Ski Resort to sign autographs for fans on Saturday at the Woodward at Copper Cage from noon to 1 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Of those expected to attend are Steve Fisher, Louie Vito, Gretchen Bleiler, Kelly Clark, Hannah Teter, Mason Aguirre, Scotty Lago, Danny Davis, Greg Bretz and more. Although, Copper spokesperson Lauren Pelletreau said the list of attending athletes is subject to change.

Colorado Ski and Snowboarding Areas Opening by Thanksgiving Day November 26, 2009

Monarch Mountain, Steamboat and Crested Butte ski resorts all will open runs on Wednesday in a season that is rife with discounts meant to lure people to the slopes in the tight economy. A day later, on Thanksgiving, legendary Aspen Mountain opens, along with Telluride and Snowmass.

On Friday, Purgatory welcomes skiers. Great news: the snow in Colorado so far this year has been amazing.

Loveland Ski Area was the first to open in North America on October 7.
